What is BASEBALL5 anyway?
Baseball 5 is a new urban sport, characterized by great dynamism.
Unlike classic baseball, it does not need a 100 x 100m field, but it is a sport that can be played on any asphalt surface, measuring 21 x 21 meters. It is played in two categories, men and coed-men and girls together, it does not require classic equipment such as gloves and bats to play, we only need a special rubber ball. The field is a basic diamond of 13×13 meters, surrounded by 4 bases and a 5-meter part of the outer field. The game requires two teams, each with 5 players. The game is played in 5 innings, which means that the teams are 5 times on offense and 5 times on defense. According to WBSC analyses, this is the most dynamic sport, conquering the world by leaps and bounds, as it does not require much equipment or special surfaces.
Baseball 5 falls under the auspices of the World Baseball and Softball Federation (WBSC), which also organizes European and world competitions.
The tournament is sponsored by the Slovenian Tourist Board (STO).
