ISFF FICTS Festival: Second Day, June 20, 2024

Thursday’s festival activities were once again dedicated to school youth, filling the Rogaška Slatina Cultural Center with eager students. The attendees included pupils from Rogatec Elementary School, Poljčane Elementary School, and Rogaška Slatina’s II. and III. Elementary Schools. In the first two days, more than 1,000 high school and elementary school students attended the festival’s film screenings.

During the film presentations, young viewers were treated to appearances by special guests. Christopher Samuda, President of the Jamaica Olympic Committee, and Alin Bijan, producer of the film “Flip Turn” which participated in the festival, added to the event’s excitement. The children gave a loud round of applause to the film “Flip Turn” after its screening.

Film screenings continued at the Cultural Center throughout the evening. At 7 PM, the documentary “Niki Pilić – The Legend” was shown, with Nikola Pilić himself in attendance. After the screening, he engaged in a conversation with the audience, sharing his experiences.

The film festival expanded to additional locations as well. Screenings began on a mobile screen at European Square and in the Atlantida and GH Sava hotels. Parallel to the film events, the “I Feel Slovenia” open Cornhole championship took place at the II. Elementary School Rogaška Slatina. The event attracted 300 participants and was made possible by the Slovenska turisticna organizacija (Slovenian Tourist Organization) II. Elementary School Rogaška Slatina, and the European Cornhole Association in formation.
